The land were the Winery stands was property of the Scala Dei Prior until the disentaiment 1836-1855) Previously the land was property of the Duke of Cardona who gave it to the Prior of Scala Dei on January, 27th of 1727 . Before the Cardona’s it also had been owned by brothers Castellvell first and later by Dukes of Entenza. (The estate still has 3 magnificent landmarks from 1790). It was always a self catering Mas planted with vines, olive trees and a good garden; also wheat and barley for the animals.

The land owns its name from its unbeatable geographical situation since the XV century and the quality and quantity of its products. It is situated between the Siurana River and the Ermita of Les Pinyeres, a sacred local place, where the wine has been revered since early days.

The cellar was created in 2002, its first year and includes 22 barrils of french oak of 225 and 228l and one 500l of Tronçais, Allier and Nevers new and first year.

The way to proceed and the philosophy behind the Mas, is to control carefully all the procedure since its collection to its commercialization. It is controlled by professionals with the aim to guarantee a quality final product.

At the moment, the cellar has a capacity of production of no more that 18000 bottles a year.
